Is there a Downtime?
Microneedling is a minimally-invasive treatment that comes with a bit of downtime. After your treatment, you may experience redness, mild swelling, and tiny pinpoint patches. Fortunately, these side effects will fade away in just a few days so you can return to your normal routine quickly.
Most patients experience redness similar to a sunburn for 24-48 hours, with some experiencing mild swelling and/or dryness/flaking as the skin heals. The total downtime is typically 2-3 days, with many returning to work the day after treatment using mineral makeup to cover any residual redness.
For microneedling with PRP, the healing process may be accelerated due to the regenerative properties of the platelet-rich plasma, though initial redness might be slightly more pronounced.
